GRISWOLD H.S. COOL SCHOOLS LIVE!

The Steel Drum Band made us feel like we were on Vacation during our visit to Griswold High School for this weeks COOL SCHOOL report, that’s just one of the things that makes GHS COOL!

Their production of the Wizard of OZ this year has a $36,000 budget and the tickets sold out so fast the school made that back and then some!  Everything about the play is done by the students and staff.  The costumes were made by the fashion design class.  The shop students designed and built all of the scenery.  The graphic arts classes did everything from screen print T-shirts, to designing and printing the programs!   The actors are phenomenal and you could only imagine the special effects.

A special thank you to the 600 students and the 150 parents , teachers and staff who showed up at out live report for a special Thursday edition of COOL SCHOOLS!!!

Hope you enjoy some of the WEB EXTRAS click below to see some of the footage that didn’t make on TV.  We wanted to share some of the things that were too fun to not be seen.

  1. Mike,
Thanks so much for bringing Cool Schools to Griswold! We had a blast…even at 4:30am :) . Your reports are always fun to watch and we are thrilled that you showed Connecticut why Griswold is such a great school.

    Thanks again!

P.S. Wasn’t that Steel Drum Band so much fun!

  2. Hooray for Griswold! I graduated from there in 1995 and am so happy to see them recognized! :)
